Cortex pricing for a 20-person team

How much does Cortex cost?

We have not published a price for Cortex yet, and we will not invent one. Every tool in every weekday issue is priced for a 20-person product org — the plan a seat, SSO or retention minimum really forces you onto, and the annual dollar figure that comes with it — and that number is published free on this page the morning it is written.

Cortex — Open-source tool that turns OpenAPI, GraphQL, gRPC and AsyncAPI specs into interactive docs, typed SDKs in 11 languages, and MCP servers.

Why it matters for PMsIf you own a public API, docs, SDKs and agent-facing tools stay in sync from one spec instead of drifting across three backlogs.

Our verdict on Cortex for a 20-person product org

We have not written an Adoption Brief on Cortex yet, and we will not invent one. Every tool in every weekday issue gets one, and the verdict and the data-risk line are published free on this page the morning it is written.

Three lines you can paste into #product without rewriting them: what it would do here, the before/after, and the smallest pilot worth asking for.

It arrives in every issue of the no-card trial — 7 weekday issues, each with the price, the verdict, the risk line and the pitch on all five tools, for an email address and no card. (A card plan, $10/month or $96/year, also unlocks it right here on the page.) Start the trial below Every tool in every weekday issue gets one; Cortex gets its brief the next time we cover it.

A complete Adoption Brief, unredacted

This is the whole of one brief as subscribers receive it: the verdict, the one sentence behind it, the price a 20-person product org really lands on, the SSO, SOC 2 and data-handling line, and the three lines you can paste into #product. It is from issue #027, which is already published in full — nothing here is withheld, and nothing is being given away that you could not already read.

Graphite Agent

Reviews pull requests and answers questions about a diff inside GitHub, replacing Graphite's earlier standalone Diamond reviewer.

Why it matters for PMsCuts the review wait that stalls your sprint: small fixes get a first-pass review in minutes instead of sitting until an engineer frees up.

Adopt

At under $10k a year it buys back reviewer hours on every sprint, and SOC 2 Type II clears the usual security review for a 20-person org.

Real price for a 20-person product org
The Team plan at $40 per user per month billed annually is where teams land, because Starter caps AI reviews and Chat; at 20 seats that is $9,600 a year. SAML/SSO, ACLs and audit logs are Enterprise-only (custom, pricing on request).
Integration & data risk
SAML/SSO, ACLs and SIEM audit logs require Enterprise; Team has none. SOC 2 Type II, report via the Cursor trust center. Code and PR context are processed in Graphite's cloud with LLM vendors as sub-processors; AI privacy and code-indexing controls are Enterprise-only.

Proposing Graphite Agent on our repo: AI review on every pull request, plus stacked PRs and a merge queue in the same tool.

Today small diffs wait hours for a human reviewer. Agent posts a first pass in minutes, so humans review logic, not formatting and null checks.

Ask: two weeks on one service, one eng lead owns the rules config, we compare time-to-first-review before and after.

  • A one-word verdict on every tool — adopt, pilot or skip — with the reason in one sentence.
  • The real price a 20-person product org lands on, not the headline tier on the pricing page.
  • The integration and data-risk line: which plan SSO needs, the SOC 2 posture, where your roadmap and customer data ends up.
  • A paste-ready 3-line pitch for #product, so making the case costs you nothing.

$490/year
unlimited readers · one organisation · one invoice · paid once for 12 months

Your PMs, your designer and your EM all read the same brief before standup. A Desk Licence covers every reader at one organisation on one invoice — no seat count to pick, no seat admin, nobody to remove when a PM leaves.

Against the $96/year plan it breaks even at five readers: $490/year for the licence against $480 for five annual subscriptions. From the sixth reader on it is the cheaper of the two, and the tenth and fortieth cost nothing more.

We re-read 43 vendor pricing pages every morning — 42 tools, 68 published figures — and diff them against the figures we published.
